Strangely enough, a Weizenbock is not actually a Bock. Wize that? We’re not at all sure, but in the spirit of novelty, combined with a touch of stubbornness, we produced a nontraditional version of our German Weizenbock recipe, fermented this time with German Lager Yeast. The lager has a slightly lower ABV and, accordingly, a noticeably lighter approach and mouthfeel, with notes reminiscent of coconut and macadamia nut blending nicely with the familiar caramel sweetness. Pour this wheaty lager anytime you’re thirsty, and especially around Oktoberfest, when this bock will capably fill the role of any märzen. Prost!
